1. Introduction

Place Offers ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard the personal information you provide to us as a subscriber to the Place Offers platform. We handle your information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

By creating an account and using the Place Offers platform, you agree to the collection and use of your personal information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect About You

As a subscriber, we collect the following categories of personal information:

Account information: your first and last name, email address, mobile phone number, and the office or agency you are associated with, provided at the time of signup
Professional information: your real estate licence details and agency affiliation, as required under our Terms of Service
Payment information: your subscription payment details, processed and stored securely by Stripe. Place Offers does not store your full credit card number or payment credentials directly
Platform usage data: information about how you use the platform, including listing and offer data you enter, features you access, actions you take within the platform, and session activity logs
Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, and pages visited, collected automatically when you access the platform
Communications: any correspondence you send to us, including support requests and feedback

We do not collect sensitive information (as defined under the Privacy Act) about subscribers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect about you for the following purposes:

To create and manage your subscriber account
To provide you with access to the Place Offers platform and its features
To process your subscription payments and manage your billing
To send you account-related communications, including receipts, renewal notices, and important updates about the platform
To provide technical support and respond to your enquiries
To verify your eligibility to use the platform as a licensed real estate professional
To monitor and analyse usage patterns in order to improve the platform and develop new features
To detect, investigate, and prevent misuse of the platform or breaches of our Terms of Service
To comply with our legal obligations

We will not use your personal information for any purpose that is incompatible with the purposes listed above without first obtaining your consent.

4. Buyer Data — Your Responsibilities

In addition to your own personal information, you will access and manage personal information submitted by buyers through the platform in the course of your work. It is important to understand that:

Buyer personal information collected through the platform is governed by the Place Offers Buyer Privacy Policy, which buyers are presented with and must acknowledge before submitting an offer
As the agent using the platform, you are responsible for handling buyer personal information in accordance with the Buyer Privacy Policy, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and the obligations set out in our Terms of Service
Place Offers provides the platform and infrastructure through which buyer data is collected, but the agent and agency are responsible for the lawful use and storage of that data once it is in their possession

5. Data Storage and Security

Your personal information is stored in an encrypted database hosted in Australia (Sydney region). We use Supabase for database infrastructure and Stripe for payment processing — both of which maintain SOC 2 Type II certification and employ industry-standard security controls.

We take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These steps include encrypted data transmission (TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You should use a strong, unique password and must not share your login details with any other person.

6. Sharing of Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers: we share information with trusted third-party providers who assist us in operating the platform, including Supabase (database hosting), Stripe (payment processing), and email delivery services. These providers are contractually required to handle your information only as directed by us and in accordance with applicable privacy law
Legal requirements: we may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or regulatory authority
Business transfers: if Place Offers is acquired, merged with, or otherwise transferred to another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to equivalent privacy protections
With your consent: we may share your information for other purposes with your explicit prior consent

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription or your account is terminated, we will retain your account information for a period of seven years following the date of termination, in order to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations and to resolve any disputes that may arise.

After this retention period, your personal information will be securely deleted or de-identified. You may request early deletion of your personal information by contacting us directly, subject to any overriding legal obligations we may have to retain certain records.

8. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the following rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you:

Access: you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Correction: you may request that we correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, or misleading
Deletion: you may request that we delete your personal information, subject to any legal obligations to retain it
Portability: you may request that we provide your personal information in a structured, commonly used format
Complaints: you have the right to make a complaint if you believe we have handled your personal information in a way that breaches the Australian Privacy Principles

9. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to any individuals whose information is affected, we will comply with our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme (Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988). This includes notifying the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and, where required, affected individuals as soon as practicable after becoming aware of the breach.

10. Cookies and Tracking

The Place Offers platform may use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyse how the platform is used. These are functional and analytical in nature — we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You may configure your browser to refuse cookies, though doing so may affect the functionality of certain parts of the platform.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal obligations. Where changes are material, we will notify subscribers by email at least 14 days before the updated policy takes effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
